One of the “In Christ” sculptures set on an old oak log. What could be more ordinary than a fallen tree? The core artistic philosophy behind Salvaged Messengers is to reflect as best I can my Heavenly Father’s creativity and role as a reclaimer in my use of materials destined for the trash heap or the fire. My work is a metaphor for what God does with those who trust in Christ — that is, rescuing us from destruction, recreating us in His image and planting His word in our hearts. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to Himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation …” 2 Corinthians 5:17-18 (ESV)
